Broke Boy Taco started with a simple idea—serve great food, inspired by real experiences, and do it right. Sean Yarborough, the man behind the tacos, spent over a decade living in San Francisco’s Mission District, where he fell in love with the bold, rich flavours of Mexican street food. Armed with an electric griddle and a passion for perfecting Birria tacos, Sean began serving up his creations on the streets and at pop-ups across Auckland.
Known for his dedication to authenticity and flavor, Sean quickly built a following. His Birria tacos became a local favorite at food events, and his reputation grew. The name "Broke Boy" is a nod to Sean’s personal struggles, a reminder of the tough times and the hustle it took to get where he is today. Now, with his own shop, Broke Boy Taco remains true to its street food roots—delivering top-quality tacos with no frills, quick service, and at an affordable price.
